Playing for Success Sheffield

Every year we serve about 1800 primary and secondary school pupils, already subject to the rigours and demands of a busy school day, who attend voluntary after schools sessions to improve their literacy and numeracy. We need your help to ensure that these children are rewarded for their hard work and sheer determination to improve.

Our key aims are to raise the self-esteem and confidence of underachievers in the Sheffield area, and to motivate them to become active learners.

Working in close partnership with local schools and the professional sports clubs, we engage children using sport as a motivational tool, and our exciting ICT classrooms to make the experience of learning fun and refreshing.

But we are only part funded, and need the support of local businesses in recognising and rewarding the children’s achievements, and keeping the programme running and expanding for the pupils who benefit from it.

Being a sponsor of Playing for Success opens new marketing opportunities for you, but much more than that, ensures your involvement in a scheme which helps hundreds of children all over Sheffield.

What can you give?

Food
We like to offer our children a healthy snack at break times. For example fresh or dried fruit, cereal bars. Can you help?

Vouchers and Prizes
Vouchers or prizes such as stationary, toys, games etc are awarded to the children at the presentation evenings.

Donation
A cash donation would be spent on specific classroom or computer equipment. Your company would be specifically thanked at presentation evenings.

Sponsor a Session
Work with one specific group of children and create a link direct with that school, by providing mentors, sponsoring snacks, pens, prizes etc.

Volunteer Mentors
We welcome members of the local community to support the children with their learning during the sessions. We can offer accredited courses and further training opportunities.
